Tailored Fire & Security are long established in the security industry and have a recognisable brand mark. Our challenge was to modernise it to better fit their brand values without losing or confusing their existing client base. The solution needed to be confident yet friendly, bold yet approachable.
Commonly known as TFS, we thought it was important to feature the full company name wherever possible to make clear what the company specialises in. Typography and colour experiments led to a reinvented wordmark that could be adapted through every part of the business.
We updated the typography and reworked the brand symbol to create a timeless brand identity system. The lockups above show how flexible the two components are and how well they work together in their most common arrangements. We also updated the brand colour palette to include richer blues (replacing the old teal colour) and used orange as an accent.
Tailored Fire & Security have a lot of collateral; from inspection forms to certificates, stickers to mugs. We made sure the brand identity was able to carry through to each.
We also made sure that the typography worked across all company sales sheets and information booklets. Often containing lots of information, the typeface choice was a crucial part of the rebrand.
The redesigned website featured a video to introduce the team. This aspect was key to the brief - TFS wanted to make sure customers knew exactly who would do the work and how knowledgeable those people are. We also designed and built the website to be fully responsive; making sure the experience was consistent across every device.
The brand identity had to work through all departments. We made sure the chosen wordmark was strong enough to remain recognisable, even when seen in the different brand colourways representing the various arms of the company.
As the company grows we're able to take inspiration from the new brand identity to incorporate new arms of Tailored Fire & Security. TFSnet, a new TFS product, is a perfect example of how a simple adaptation of the wordmark creates a dedicated logo, which still maintains the strength of the main brand.
